Write Your World™ Vision Statement

Write Your World™’s vision is threefold: building up who we are as individuals, celebrating our uniqueness in community, growing our creativity in order to change our world and the worlds of those we reach.

As individuals and community

This is our hope for who we are, as individuals and as a community. We create a culture of welcome and joy, where we do life together. What does this look like? Here are our values, our ideals, our identity:

—We stand against alienation and isolation. Our purpose is community built around one singular core identity. You are valuable. Who you are is valuable; you’re unique is a precious treasure. You are part of our community. Community is made up of people. Each person is valuable; our community is valuable. Our community is only as strong as those within it. We take care of community by taking care of each other.

—We have integrity. Not wallowing in fear or false labels, including the promotion of personality tests and mental health labels that sets people in boxes instead of celebrating their uniqueness as individuals. We do not accept darkness around us or in us.

—We will cultivate a culture of living in the light, not propagation of fear, false hatred, injustice, or false morals. We are kind, supportive, and uphold truth with compassion. We take authority over broken areas in our lives and lead by example, supporting one another. We do not abuse our own selves but walk in the knowledge of who we are according to truth. We are more than our emotions, our thoughts, our bodies: each of us is unique.

—Our values are: authenticity, vulnerability, and healing. We do not overshare or bask in brokenness, shaming of self or others, being rejected, taking offense.

—Our purpose is growing together in purpose, maturity, and doing life. This means we have to learn to trust one another and assuming the best in one another. We do not deliberately goad out of maliciousness nor purposefully troll or lead one another astray.

—We will not and will not glorify darkness, vileness or evil. There is one and only one truth, absolute but subjectively experienced. We are all at different stages along the same journey, and we each must choose the destination. We welcome all but we do not endorse or agree with all things.

—We safeguard, value, and respect our members and uphold our community. As we grow individually, our community grows; as our community grows, we grow as individuals. We have our own tradition and subculture within Write Your World, which grow as we grow. We are a living community, and we course correct and course adjust as we navigate our way forwards. We honour one another and have a culture of honour.

Purpose

—Our Purpose is to grow as creatives, whether in writing, roleplaying, art, video games, or any other creative work we put our hands, thoughts, and hearts to.
